My Tessellation

This is my tessellation! It is a semi-regular tessellation because I used more than one shape to make this. A semi regular is using more than one shape to make the tessellation. A regular tessellation is when you use only one shape to make it and there are even sides. I hope you learnt more about tessellations!

The Moon

🌙 The Moon 🌙

I will be telling you at least 6 facts about the moon

Craters in the Moon are from meteorites hitting the Moon.

The names of the moon phases are: New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Last Quarter and Waning Crescent.

The Moon helps make the tides.

You only see one side of the Moon.

The Moon is slowly moving away from earth by about 4 centimetres a year. The Moon will appear smaller and in a couple billion years it will look just like another bright star in the sky.

The moon has no air. so there’s no wind on the moon. Astronauts’ footprints will last millions of years because there’s nothing to blow them away.

Lockdown Reflection

When I was younger… We went into lockdown. Because there was a horrible virus spreading around. Known as Covid-19. We didn’t think much of it because we only got cases in New Zealand from people who went overseas. But then it started spreading at a speed we couldn’t keep up with.

So, we went into lockdown for about two months. We were in level 4 for a while but then it went down slowly. Level 4, Level 3 and then Level 2. Where I was right now when I was making up this story/Writing this story. We haven’t gotten any cases for a while! I felt scared but then I felt happy because when I was in lockdown with my family, I got to spend more time with them. We were allowed to go on walks but we had to stay in our bubble. At least 1 meter apart. People put teddy bears in their window so people could spot the teddy bears in the window. It was like a little bear hunt. It kept us distracted from what was actually going on.
When it was Level 2, we went back to school. I felt sad I had to go back to school but I was happy I got to see my friends.

Book Review: David Walliams Demon Dentist

Book Review!

David Walliams: Demon Dentist

I love all of David Walliams books but I am going to post a review about this specific book because it was the first book I read by David Walliams.

First of all, when you look at the cover it tells you exactly what it is about. An evil dentist with an evil cat, trying to drill out the boy's teeth.

I love how it is such a big book so if you’re enjoying the book, it takes quite a while to finish. So, you can read more of it. Alright, Let’s get on with the storyline.

I like the storyline because it is so creative! In my opinion, all the storylines David Walliams comes up with are so creative and funny!

He also makes a lot of made-up words. Which I think is pretty cool! He shows all the characters in the book before you read the actual book so you know who is who.

Let’s get on with the actual book!

The story is about a boy called Alfie and he hated going to the dentist because of an incident that happened. He's been avoiding the dentist for ages. The last time he went to the dentist (When the incident happened) he was six years old.

When 12 year old Alfie went to assembly, the new dentist came to promote her dental clinic. Alfie and his friend Gabz got suspicious of her. At the end of the assembly, the dentist gave out sugar-free sweets and everyone came to get them. Except for Alfie and Gabz. Not long after that, Alfie was forced to go to the dentist and something terrible happened... After that, Gabz came to confront the dentist. Alfie soon realised that Gabz had been gone for a while so Alfie decided to face his fears and go to the dentist to find out the truth. Read the book to find out how the story ends.

Rating out of 10: 10/10

Would I recommend the book? Definitely!

I really enjoyed this book and if you get it out at the library or buy it, I hope you enjoy it too!
